War and Creativity - Poetry Anti -War Songs and Excellent Talk on Artists of the First World War

Had a wonderful evening last night at Sevenoaks Museum - Thank you to all the people who attended the War and Creativity Evening. Professor Graham Witham gave a very illuminating talk about Artists and Art from the First World War and I read poems that spanned the 20th Century and sang Anti-War songs. It was so uplifting when the audience joined in with Johnny I hardly knew ye, The Universal Soldier and Blowing in the Wind. Many thanks to Curator Susan Gosling for organizing the evening.

Funders KCC arts Development Unit  Dover Town Council, The Jack Hewitt Youth Scheme were in attendance at the press launch. as well as the Kent Cultural Baton and Artist Maggie Rose and Catherine Herbert KCC Arts and Regeneration Officer. Auditions - Friday 1st July for FILM SPORT and THE PERFORMING ARTS

This friday July 1st from 4pm - open auditions at The Salem Baptist Church Hall Dover for FILM SPORT and The Performing Arts - Age range 10 - 25 Years . Marie will work with Film Maker Steve Thomas, West End MD Grant Martin , Drama Director Michael Thomas, Stage Combat and Sport Facilitators Josiah Rose and Jonathan Howlett, choreographer Julia Rennells Stage Manager Andrew Martyn with 25 students chosen from the open audition. The workshop which takes the cultural Olympiad as its inspiration will run from Sat 13 august to Thursday 18 august inclusive at Dover Grammar School for Boys with a public performance in Dover Town Hall on the evening of Thursday 18th August at 7.30pm. The Kent Cultural Baton will mark the event. Four short films will be made during the week to be screened on the BBC Big Screen from Autumn 2011 in the lead up to the Olympics.
If you live in the Dover town and District area and wish to audition please prepare a short drama piece and a short unaccompanied song

Now that Katapult has been successfully launched and we are taking the company forward I can get back to completing the long awaited album which will feature a duet with my daughter Imogen.
 

Trinity Theatre Tunbridge Wells

Trinity Theatre Tunbridge Wells was a joy to work in - our thanks to Zanna who helped with the get in and get out and ran the sound and lights for us. We wish her well in her career. Still got the lurgy bug and  finally succumbed to visiting the doctor today . Everyone said how much they enjoyed it and we had a good house. Just wish the weather hadn't been so foul and would have loved to stay over however had to get back for the Dickens Festival on Sat  and really needed to get some sleep
