Dover Festival Prom Fri 5th July

Had a wonderful evening performing at the Dover Festival Prom on Friday 5th July in Dover Town Hall singing the Habanera and Gypsy Song from Carmen and appearing as Britannia - Thanks to Michael Foad for the Britannia Costume and to Stephen Yarrow who was superb as Escamillo and to Michael Lewis and Stephen for their marvellous conducting . I love the sound of trumpets so it was a great treat to hear the Concerto for 2 Trumpets played by the proms Orchestra with Soloists Kevin Kay-Bradley and Elaine Williams. The chosen charity for the event is the Kent Air Ambulance so I hope they made lots of money - I was delighted to support their work. Thank you to everybody for all their wonderful comments for the Lady in Red !

Workshop 2013

Delighted to work with 32 young people chosen in open audition  who showed such enthusiasm and commitment to staging a full length performance and film show  to the public . So pleased to have had special permission from Composer George Styles to perform Fair Shares for all from the amazing west end BETTY BLUE EYES - a perfect start to the evening. My thanks also to the sponsors who made it all happen.

Performing Arts Workshop Auditions FEB 27th and March 1st 2013

Dover Youth Theatre will hold auditions at The Salem Baptist Church Hall Maison Dieu Road Dover Kent  on Wednesday Feb 27 2013 from 4-6pm and Friday March 1st 2013 from 5-7pm for a Free Performing Arts and film workshop to take place in Dover from Sat 6- Thursday 11th April with a free performance to the public in Dover Town Hall on Thursday 11th April 2013. If you are between 10 - 26 years (Year 6 upwards) ,live in White cliffs country, work or study in Dover District you are eligible.Please prepare a short drama piece,an unaccompanied song and be prepared to demonstrate any movement skills. In the style of the 39 Steps- four actors take on multiple roles . 

The Canterville Ghost Storytelling Workshop at Sevenoaks Library

Had a wonderful morning at the Museum in Sevenoaks Library giving a storytelling workshop on The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde. Many thanks to the audience of both young people and grown ups for their active participation and to the boys who and girls who joined with me to tell the story. Thank you to Curator Susan Gosling for the return visit to Sevenoaks and the fantastic feddback from all and to Suzanne for remembering my rendition of "Johnny I hardly knew ye" at the War and Creativity event in March. Her 'Ghost- making' workshop looked brilliant.

War and Creativity - Poetry Anti -War Songs and Excellent Talk on Artists of the First World War

Had a wonderful evening last night at Sevenoaks Museum - Thank you to all the people who attended the War and Creativity Evening. Professor Graham Witham gave a very illuminating talk about Artists and Art from the First World War and I read poems that spanned the 20th Century and sang Anti-War songs. It was so uplifting when the audience joined in with Johnny I hardly knew ye, The Universal Soldier and Blowing in the Wind. Many thanks to Curator Susan Gosling for organizing the evening.
